About the Health Regulation Authority
The Health Regulation Authority (HRA) was established in 2016 under the Health Regulation Ordinance 2016 as per the Notice of the Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands published in the Gazette – pursuant to the requirement enshrined in the ordinance.
Our role as a regulatory body is to protect healthcare consumers from health risks, provide a safe working environment for healthcare professionals, and ensure that public health and welfare are served. It is necessary to standardize and supervise healthcare,
ensuring that healthcare facilities, spas and bodies comply with public policies and provide safe care to all patients and visitors who access our healthcare system.
The Health Regulation Authority will track compliance throughout the healthcare system in line with its contractual obligations, and other legal requirements protecting the public interest.
Our activities aim to build appropriate motives and attitudes, policies, and healthcare protocols within systems and facilities hosting penalties for non-compliance.
